Scouts spend hottest week under canvas in 2005

A HARDY bunch of Scouts spent the hottest week of the year under canvas during their annual camp to Mourne Park near Kilkeel in 2005.

Members and leaders of First Lurgan Scouts pitched camp at the site within the Kilmorey estate.

They enjoyed a week of various activities including climbing waterfalls, canoeing and scaling a 1,000 foot mountain called Knockshee near to the camp site.

A visit to Cranfield beach and to the town of Newcastle came later in the week before the annual sports day was held on the Friday.

On Saturday it was time to leave and head home.
