Wallet is washed up on shore of Lough

WHILE yachting on Lough Neagh in 1967 a Lurgan man was concerned about the safety of his wallet.

So he took the precaution of leaving it with his friend on the shore.

Later in the evening - having forgotten about the wallet - he collected his friend and they both headed out onto the water.

But back on shore they discovered the wallet had gone missing.

In the gathering gloom it was hard enough to see the lough never mind a wallet.

But, in desperation, the wallet owner turned the lights of his car on the shore.

And sure enough there it was where it had been washed in.

The money took some time to dry but at the endof the day it was still legal tender.

Meanwhile the next time he went sailing he made sure the wallet was left at home.
