X-ray unit toured Larne

More than 3,000 people were x-rayed by a mobile radiography unit visiting Larne in April 1961.

The response from the local industrial sector, in particular, was “excellent”, according to the Larne Times.

More than 800 workers at the town’s AEI factory and 700 at Corran Works came forward for the health check.

The unit was due to attend the Old Presbyterian Church Hall at Meetinghouse Street where it was open to members of the local community before visiting Linn Primary School in Craigyhill and proceeding to Magheramorne Cement Works.
