Nothing to show for long trek

Limavady 15

DROMORE made the long trek to Limavady on Saturday for their second league match of the season with a few enforced changes in the team.

Stu Sloan came in at hooker with Harshaw moving to prop, in the back row James Currie and Stuart Russell replaced Gary Hall and Patton. John Russell started at scrum half and Aaron Stewart made his debut on the wing.

Dromore started the match on the front foot but wasted a couple of early chances before a wayward kick found the Limavady winger who ran and chiped the Dromore defence to score. Limavady then added a penalty before they chipped the Dromore defense again to score another try and take the score to 15-0 after 10 minutes.

Samuel Russell was sin binned after a late tackle but on his return Dromore upped their attack, they had all the possesion for the remainder of the half. They only managed two penalties from Russell but were confident they could wear the organised Limavady defence down.

Limavady playing with the wind in the second half controlled long spells of the game. Russell missed one penalty on 60 minutes and apart from a late rally Dromore were unable to convert their possession into points.

Dewet Bekker had a try disallowed on 80 minutes after good work by Tom Finn and Limavady were delighted to hold on for a 15-6 win.
