Novel way to raise the profile of derby games

Local company, Print Business Designs, in association with Lurgan Mail’s GAA reporter Eugene Creaney has come up witha novel way of further raising the profile of three derby game.

The games are set to take place the weekend after next.

In what the fans are calling ’The Super Weekend’ Intermediate Championship clashes between Clan na Gael and Clann Eireann, St Peter’s and Wolfe Tones and Eire Og and St Paul’s are set to take place over the weekend of August 9-11.

The three matches will see the biggest local crowds for many years flock to St Peter’s Park and Clann Eireann Park and all three games will all be previewed in next week’s ‘Mail’.

Print Business Supplies will be donating gift vouchers for the player (or players) who appear in what is judged to be the best photograph taken over the three matches.

The pictures will be taken by young Trasna man Eoin Murray who is a photography student.

The best action shot will be printed on to a mug and a mouse pad by the local firm’s new personalised printing department before being handed over to the winners.

Eugene Creaney said: “This is certainly a new and very novel idea. Players love to see their picture in newspapers but they can now look at themselves every day on the printed mouse pads and mugs.

“This venture from Print Business Supplies will further raise the profile of the three big games. During my time with the ‘Mail’ I certainly haven’t witnessed a buzz amongst the fans like this. The turnstiles will be clicking at a furious rate.”
