Oisin is fourth at Moira XC

High tide, hail and strong winds awaited the runners for Saturday’s Portrush parkrun. As a consequence, for only the third time in the events history, an alternative route was used, stretching from the Watersport’s Centre to Ramore Head and back.

Before the run Portrush welcomed tourists from local parkruns, as well as the Republic of Ireland and England. Davy Blair and Laurence Campbell where congratulated on completing their 50th parkrun, bringing the total to 25 who that have reached this goal. Bryan Hume was congratulated on being nominated as the Sweatshop parkrunner of the month for December.

There were 53 runners, 3 first timers, no PB’s and two athletics clubs represented.

First to finish was Springwell’s Glenn Millar in 19:40 and first lady was teammate Sonia Knox in 21:42

Springwell parkrun tourists - Alistair Shaw was fourth runner home at the Falls parkrun in 19:52. Deborah Gilliland was second female at the Queens parkrun in 22:36. Kenny Bacon ran 29:53 at MUSA Cookstown parkrun and Brenda McGilligan 33:16 at ECOS parkrun.

Oisin Brennan was Springwell’s sole representative at the Moria Cross Country meeting. Oisin finished fourth in the Under 18 Boy’s in 15:29.
