Olympic get back in action in Ballynure fixture

Cookstown Olympic Colts

The Colts travelled to play league leaders Finvoy last Saturday and they started this match quickly and scored after a minute when John Scott put Dean Stewart down the line and his cross was headed back by Johnny O'Neill for his brother Ryan to fire home from 6 yards. Two more unconverted chances fell to the Colts before Ryan Devlin in nets tipped over a lob in the 20th minute.

The goals then came thick and fast as the Colts went two up on 25 minutes when a Jarlath Harley run into the box produced a penalty which Dean Stewart slotted comfortably.

A third goal came two minutes later as a Brian McGurk cross was headed on by Ryan O'Neill for Dean Stewart to volley from 10 yards out. Finvoy then pulled one back on 27 minutes while the Colts have two further one on ones not scored. The referee awarded a dubious goal for a disputed ball over the goal line after 43 minutes for Finvoy's second.

The second half was a procession of chances for the Colts before they got their fourth on 60 minutes when a Ryan O'Neill corner was finished at the back post by his brother Johnny while Finvoy grabbed their third goal in the 86th minute but the contest was over and a good away win for the Colts was recorded.

Training

Training will take place on the synthetic pitch on Thursdays from 8 to 9pm.

The Lucky 4 Lottery numbers for Saturday 13th February were 2, 3, 7 and 24, and there were no winners who matched all 4 numbers for the 600 jackpot. There were no winners who matched three numbers. The jackpot will now be 600 for next week’s draw and tickets are available from any committee or team member.
