One sided affair

Seapatrick 6

Blackersmill 1

BLACKERSMILL have already beaten Seapatrick twice this season but it wasn't to be third time lucky.

Seapatrick swept aside the team from Armagh in what was to be a one sided game.

Seapatrick spent most of the game in their opponents half but it was Blackersmill that drew first blood. A sloppy pass from midfielder Stevie Greene sold big centre half John Murphy short and the 'mills front man nipped in to slot past keeper Fletcher.

Seapatrick equalised almost immediately, makeshift striker Davy Dawson spun his man in the box after a great run and buried the ball low and hard past the Blackersmill keeper.

Their second was an absolute peach. Chris McGrath picked the ball up 30 yards out and as he spied the keeper of his line rocketed his effort straight over the keeper’s head into the back of the net. John Murphy tried a similar effort a short time later which only just sailed over the bar. Stevie Greene was also unlucky with an effort that hit the side netting.

Number three came courtesy of skipper Philly Davidson. Stevie Jones made a great run down the right and as he exchanged passes with Davidson he ran diagonal into the box and thumped into the bottom corner for his first goal of the season.

Davy Dawson was to get his second a short time later when he cannoned in an effort from just outside the box. Front man Aaron Gallagher got number five with a deft chip that nestled in the bottom corner and number six came courtesy of Stevie Jones as he sprung the offside trap he had time to place his effort into the bottom corner to complete the rout.

Goalkeeper Fletcher who had been a virtual spectator for most of the game had to make a save in the dying minutes at his right hand post.

It was great to see the return of frontman Ally Beck after a lengthy injury and he was unlucky not to get on the score sheet as the keeper pulled of a point blank save to deny him a goal on his return.

A vital three points for Seapatrick who despite their poor opponents played some lovely football. Next week they take on high flying Tandragee at Crystal Park.
