O'REILLY'S stormed to the top of the McLean Bookmakers First Division with a hard fought win against a stubborn Anglers side.

BJ McAnearney gave the visitors an early lead before R Curran pulled the teams level in the next.

E McClory restored the Anglers advantage in frame three but then O'Reilly's took out and won the next four frames through Sean Conlon, Brad Moss, Nicola Dougan and Matty Gartland.

With the match over C McAvoy took the final frame for a consolation for the Anglers.

Montagu Legends 5

Market Bar B 3

The Montagu Arms side continued their great start to the campaign and moved into joint second place in the standings with a strong display against the Market Bar.

The home side raced into a 3-0 lead when Gordon Church, Tam Bell and Richard Gibson were all winners in their games.

The Market hit back with a mini-revival by taking the next two frames from G Hutchinson and D Russell but they fell foul of Hugh Gibson in the sixth frame and he was quickly followed up in the next by Ryan Taylor who showed his captain's form to secure the points for the Tandragee outfit.

A Murray took the final frame for the Market.

Mulholland's 3

Imperial 5

The Imperial inflicted the first defeat of the season on Mulholland's and in doing so also moved into a share of second spot in the league.

It all started off so well for Mulholland's as they rushed into a 3-0 lead as Alan Currie, Ashley Moore and Mark Jardine all won their matches.

But the Imperial have proven in the past that they never know just when they are beaten and stormed through the final five frames in great style to secure an unlikely victory and keep their own unbeaten start to the season going.

The winners were A Corbett, S Kerr, J McCahon, I Wilson and R Kerr.

Castle Bar B 6

Planters 2

The Castle won this match quite convincingly in the end despite losing the opening frame as Paul Uprichard gave the Planters the early lead but the home side then proceeded to take six of the final seven frames to keep the pressure on the teams just above them in the table.

Castle winners were J Harper, G Magennis, C Corbett, E Maney, P McKivergan and R Harper.

Philip Cowanregistered the Planters' only other victory. Bus Bar 4

The Coach finally got off the mark this year in this yo-yo match which saw both teams with opportunities to take full points.

A Dean and M Miles gave the Coach the perfect start in the opening two frames but they were quickly pegged back when D McAlinden and M McWilliams were successful for the Bus Bar in the next two frames.

The next four frames were shared as Bert Doherty and R Hunter won for the Coach and A McCartan and P McClean took the honours for the home side. A draw seemed a fair result.

Donaghcloney Legion 4

First and Last 4

The First and Last were another side which registered their first point of the new yearbut it could have been much better as the Banbridge side were 4-2 up at one stage.

Fighting back from a 2-0 deficit, P Hylands and C Morton gave the home side that lead but the first and last hit back through Brian Lyness , Paul Lyness, Brendan Burns and Brian Lyness Snr but with the pressure well and truly on the Legion rear guard who were well up for it and A Clarke and P Tinsleywon the final two frames to secure a valuable point for the home side.
