Daryl Gurney shares the spoils with Gerwyn Price

Gurney deprived Gerwyn Price of a valuable point in an 7-7 draw at the Marshall Arena.

'Superchin' remains bottom of the table with only two nights left and now mathematically can’t make the last four, how important the point for the Iceman is will probably only become apparent on Saturday night.

A relaxed Gurney hit his stride early landing a 180 with his first visit to the board, he missed the bull for a 126 checkout but cleaned up the leg on D8.

Price hit three ton plus in the second leg but Gurney took out 100 on tops tops to break the Welshman’s throw.

He edged a quality third leg finishing 80 on tops after hitting a 125, 100 and a 105.

Price hit another three ton plus scores in the next leg and tied the match up at 2-2 on D18.

Gurney profited from the Iceman missing three darts at tops and hit D16 to break straight back.

A second maximum from Superchin held him hold his throw and open up a two leg advantage again.

Price held his throw in leg seven by checking out 121 on the bull.

The scores were tied again as Price hit D5 to claim leg eight.

A 137 and a 135 helped Superchin to break the Price throw in leg nine. Price levelled again with tops to take out 70 in leg 10.

Price hit the front for the first time in the match in leg 11 as again he checked out 70 this time going treble 18 D8.

However Price couldn’t shake Gurney off and the Superchin took out D8 to make it 6-6.

A tops finish gave Price a 7-6 lead going into the final leg but Gurney took out a 130 on D5 to hold his throw and force the draw.
