Outstanding display from Collins at Half Marathon

Six members of County Antrim Harriers took part in the second Belfast Half Marathon held on Sunday.

The action started off from the King’s Hall with a scenic 13-mile tour around Belfast covering Malone Road, City Hall, Victoria Park, Botanic Gardens and back to Balmoral.

Crossing the line first for the club in an outstanding personal best time of 1.36.06 was Helen Collins who is running so well at present.

Natalie Davidson was next home in 1.40.08, followed by Irene Downey who was delighted with her pb of 1.48.03.

Rachel Lloyd put in a sterling performance to finish in 1.57.41 and Bob Carson, the only male entrant for the club, made it home in 2.03.55.

The final cub member home was a jubilant Kim Gleave who achieved a time of 2.12.05 (pb).

During the week Christine Murray was the sole club representative at the Run ‘n’ The Bann 5k in Portglenone. Christine had a fabulous race, finishing as fifth female in 21.25.
