Parke brace seals Ballymoney win

ON Saturday Ballymoney firsts played Randalstown in their opening league match of the new season.

Games between these two teams are usually a ding dong battle and Saturday was no exception Money hemmed Town in their own half for the first 15 minutes of the game but with numerous shots on goal and six short corners to the good the Money girls couldn’t find the net.

As the game progress the Town girls came to the fore and it took a good one on one save by former Town keeper Jenna Holmes to deny them from opening the score.

As the game progress Money were the dominant side and after a ping pong battle in front of the goal mouth Nikki Parke eventually opened the scoring for Ballymoney in true Nikki style.

The second half brought more of the same and again it was don to Nikki to get the final touch on a loose ball infront of the net to leave the final score 2-0.

Money have the long journey to Dublin next Saturday to play UCD in their opening game of the Irish League.

The seconds are home to Banbridge at 2.30pm while the thirds will be looking to bring home the bacon against Cookstown (4pm).
