Paul leads race for player award

THERE will be a prize for the outstanding player in the Winter League and, at this moment of time, there are four leading contenders.

Paul McAleavey has played in every round and he has scored 30 points or better on four occasions. His only blemish, if you could call it such, was 29 points in round two.

Trevor Woods of team 6 has scored in the 30's three times.

Connor Mulholland of team 7 has never missed a round and he has scored a 33, a 31 and a 30. His other two scores were 28. That's very consistent golf.

Philip Mallon of team 8 has scored 32 points twice and a 30 pointer. His other two scores were 29 and 27.

The top player is likely to be one of these four and the favourite is Paul McAleavey.
