Pauline continues athletics comeback with great display in North West

The Ballymena & Antrim athlete who trains with Fit N Running claimed a fourth place in the female open and was a clear winner in her age category after a race long battle with City of Derrys Jackie McMonagle.

The local schoolteacher’s time over the 6k course was 23 mins 28 secs.

FLEXIBILITY CLASS

Fit N Running are set to begin a Flexibility class in the new year. Following an experimental class run for 3 weeks before Christmas in which good numbers attended and indeed enjoyed. The class will be taken by Gregory Walsh on Thirsday evenings from 630pm - 730pm.

BEGINNERS’ CLASS

If you feel inspired to take up running and would like to learn how to do it properly, Fit N Running are planning an 8 week beginners class starting on Tuesday 19th January at 615pm from the Michelin Athletic Club in Ballymena.

The course will teach proper running technique, warm up and cool down routines using a range of modern training and strength/conditioning methods. This will help to to minimise injury and maximise performance enjoyment and progression.

Some individuals wishing to take up running can find themselves restricted due to excess weight, poor posture or pre-excisting injuries.

If this is the case they can then transfer to the Wednesday evening conditioning circuit class to help address these issues.

The course will be taken by Personal Trainer and Athletics Coach Gregory Walsh who has 21 years experience as an athlete and coach.

It is suitable for all ages and designed to take take participants from scratch to 35mins running over the 8 weeks.

Also available are individually tailored nutrition plans and access to our runners strength/conditioning circuit class.

Cost for 8 week running course is £20.

It is limited to 20 people so book early to confirm your place. Pre-enrolment is neccessary.

If you would like to add the bolt on conditioning circuit class for 8 weeks its available at a 50% discount fee of £20 for newly enrolled beginners.

Individually tailored nutrition plans are also available at a 50% discount of £20 to newly enrolled beginners.

Fit N Running organise a number of weekly sessions and times to suit all standards of runner.

The days and times of these are as follows:

Monday 615pm Recreational Run

Wednesday 615pm Conditioning Circuit class.

Thursday 430pm Advanced running group.

Thirsday 630pm Flexibility Class

There is also an adfitional session on Saturday morning for the advanced group.

All these sessions are from the Michelin Athletic Club on the Woodside Road in Ballymena. New comers are always welcome.
