Peacocks Under-12s enjoy end of season trip to Glasgow

BERTIE Peacock Youths Under-12s have just returned from a successful end of season trip to Glasgow.

The local lads recorded wins over both Celtic and Rangers during their stay in Scotland. Last Friday the Little Ants defeated Celtic Boys 2-0 at Vale of Clyde FC. They were given a terrific reception by the Celtic coaching team and made many new friends.

On the Saturday they took on the other half of the Old Firm at the club’s fantastic training complex, Murray Park.

Once again Peacocks came out on top winning 1-0 in an energy sapping encounter.

The boys had a great time and played out of their skin in both games to earn the victories and no doubt gained a lot experience and some inspiration after they were given a tour around the Rangers facilities.

The team spent their free time with a tour to a brilliant Transport Museum, a bit of shopping and a trip to the cinema. this was the third trip away for this age group as the team has now visited the Ayr festival, the Fleetwood cup in Blackpool and now playing the Old Firm.

Next season the 2001 team hope to represent Peacocks in the Finow Cup in Germany, where again valuable experience is on the agenda for the boys on their football journey.
