The course is relatively flat and took the runners out of Limavady and along the Seacoast road, before returning back into the town to the finish line beside the local cricket club.

The Acorns were well represented with over ten members taking part, plus there was a strong field in place for this race, including Belfast Marathon winner Freddy Sittuk and AAI Masters holder Natasha Adams.

As the race got underway at 7.30pm, the 400 runners made a brisk start, including the Acorns crew of Aaron Meharg, Darrell McKee and Martin Loughran. Not far behind, in the middle of the pack, were Bliadhan Glass, Alan Shaw and Kevin Conway, to name but a few.

As they approached the half way stage, Aaron was inside the top ten and keeping in touch with the leading pack. Darrell McKee, who was running the event for the first time, was holding his own just in front of Marty and Bliadhan.
