Six swimmers from Coleraine made the high qualification time standards to enter this gala.

Five of those 6 entered and attended the event – Charlotte Anderson, Molly Curry, Millie Dallas, Hannah Gellatly and Shannon Baird.

The Coleraine swimmers performed well with Charlotte, Molly, Millie and Hannah achieving at least one new personal best time. As this gala has no age categ

ories the swimmers typically range from approximately 12-25yrs of age it is very difficult to make the top eight fastest swimmers to return for the evening sessions when the day’s finals take place.

13-year-old Molly Curry was the only swimmer from Coleraine to make a final and she had to return for the evening finals sessions in both her entered races on the Friday and Saturday.

After spirited races she achieved seventh in the 100m Breaststroke and narrowly missed bronze medal to be placed fourth in the 50m breaststroke.

Coleraine Swimming Club would like to congratulate Molly and all those who participated in this gala in Lisburn.

If this is a sign of things to come over the rest of the season we’re in for a very exciting year.
