“We ended up winning the competition. We did pretty well in the first couple of workouts and took an early lead, which we tried to maintain.

“But we actually went into the final one point down, but we won the final to take the overall victory. It was athrilling end and an emotional day.

“It was a very tough competition, there was some pretty good athletes competing.

“It is about finding the best overall person, not the strongest or the fittest, but the best at everything.”

“I’ve been involved in Crossfit for about 18 months now. I absolutely love it.

“I played quite a bit of rugby and I also used to wakeboard, so I have a competitive background.

“I’d encourage people to come along and give it a go.

“I know a lot of guys who play rugby who came along to it and really enjoy it.

“The training really does help with that explosive power you need for other sports.”
