PICTURE GALLERY: Mini rugby 'blitz' at Eaton Park

IN the first 'Blitz' of the season Ballymena Mini section played host to teams from Randalstown, Limavady and BHSFP on Saturday morning.

The participants ranged from under-7 through to under-12s and more than 400 children were involved on the day.

The Blitz format has been adopted by the IRFU and this has moved the emphasis from competition to participation.

As always the games were hotly contested and the players were rewarded with hotdogs and juice after their matches.

The visitors and home parents took part in a Big Breakfast organised to raise funds for next year's Mini tour which is still in the planning stages. Thank you to all who helped out and supported this event which raised 300.

On Saturday evening the Club played host to a Rascals Family Teatime Quiz for our five and six year olds where more than forty little Rascals and their parents came out and took part. The club Ladies Section provide food for everyone attending and a great evening was had by all.

The Mini Section of Ballymena Rugby Club still has space in most age groups, training is every Saturday morning from 9.15-11am at Eaton Park.
