THE NIPA have reported another very good season and the AGM will be held in Glenavy on Saturday 20th February at 2.00pm, Joe & Mark Brown will be holding their Annual Sale of young birds (complete first round), door open at Noon in the downstairs hall.

Two committee meetings were held either side of Blackpool and a number of items were dealt with in relation to the new season. The NIPA Accounts and Agenda will be available shortly. Two race programmes will be voted on, both similar to the previous year. Doagh & Dist will have a Marking Centre subject to the necessary arrangements and the meeting decided against having joint Press Officers. Slight adjustments are to be made to a few rules and some changes will be made for payment of race crates each week and delivery of the Official NIPA Result by lunchtime on a Sunday (next available day on hold-over). Only Delegates can vote or enter into the business of the annual meeting. The cost of the Unikon ETS are to increase, any orders made now will be charged at the old rate. The NIPA this year will be using a new product Loft Care, a safe Eco Friendly and Convenient cleaner, disinfectant and Deodoriser which effectively destroys a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi at viruses at source. Available in 5 Litre containers, for all clubs and members.

The RPRA (Irish Region) AGM will be held in the Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus on Saturday 6th February starting at 1.30pm. Mid Antrim Combine AGM will be held in the Harryville HPS on Wednesday 17th March at 8.00pm. The New Antrim Amalgamated will have a meeting on Monday 1st February at 7.30pm for Subs and AOB. The Ballymena & District AGM will be held in the local Clubrooms at Fountain Place on Monday 15th February at 8.00pm, Resolutions in writing must be with the Secretary Willie Reynolds no later than Saturday 30th January. Two Rings GB10B starting 313 were picked up at the Cliffs Hotel in Blackpool that might be Irish, owner can contact me.

Good friends Timmy Mawhinney (Donacloney) and Simon Millar (Randalstown) returned from Blackpool with a lot of cards, one dozen trophies and overall winners of three classes Old Hen Flown 300 Miles or Over, Old Cock Flown 200 Miles or Over and Old Hen flown 200 Miles or Over. They also won Best Racing Pigeon for Winner of Classes 21-30 plus Alan Heath Memorial Trophy, Presidents Trophy and the Verband Deutscher Trophy. Best Opposite Sex for Winner of Classes 21-30 plus R Graham Cup. Best 300 Miles or Over Winner of Classes 25 & 26 plus Sir Gordon Richards Trophy. Best 200 Miles or Over Winner of Classes 27 & 28 plus Norman Axe Memorial Trophy. Best Opposite Sex 200 Miles or Over Winner of Classes 27 & 28 Plus John Ambler Memorial Trophy which Timmy has won for the third time. It was an overall top performance and the best ever by the Irish at Blackpool. Young Robert Wiggins from the NI Show Racer Society (Ballymoney) won both the Likeliest Cock and Likeliest Hen – Show Racer and brought home the Young Fancier Likeliest Show Racer plus the J Fitzpatrick Trophy. Also for the NI Show Racer Society Rouke & Christie had a number of cards and had 1st in the 2009 Hen Un-flown.
