Players go for individual darts glory

That will have to be put on the back burner this week, however, as the league individual titles are on the agenda with the division one and two titles being battled out in the Fairhill Bar, Ahoghill, while also in the village, the ladies will compete at the Diamond Bar.

Several players were showing good form last week with four players - Rab Lynn (Central), Steven McIlroy, Gabriel Kerr (Greenhills) and John Robinson (Diamond) all hitting 17-dart legs.

Other good legs came from: 18 - Ian Rainey, Ian Reynolds; 19 - Ian Rainey, Roy Gilchrist, Colin Millar; 20 - Jim Rainey, Rab Lynn, len McKeegan Snr, Fred McDowell, Graham Simms; 21 - Trevor Johnston, Gary Scott, Len McKeegan, James Carlisle.

George McDowell had the best finish with a 157 checkout, followed by: 118 - Jim Rainey (Fairhill); 104 - Rab Lynn (Clough); 107, 96 - Davy Graham (Ladysmith); and 80 - Hugh Finlay (Horse & Jockey).

Ian Rainey (Fairhill) hit two 180s, while Colin Reid, Trevor Turtle and Rodney McAleese also scored maximums.

BUFC DARTS EVENT

Calling all darts fans, especially those who support Ballymena United FC.

A darts competition is being held in the Ballymena United Social Club on Saturday, June 26, with the proceeds going towards the football club’s funds.

A prize fund of 1,500 is on offer with the winner taking home 750.

Entry fee is 10 per player and further details can be obtained from Billy Montgomery (2568 5548) or Davy Wilson (07713 336668). A great day of darts is anticipated and all will be welcome.
