PlayersreturnforFoyle tie

FOYLE & Londonderry College face Down High School in the Danske Bank Schools’ Cup third round, at Springtown, on Saturday (KO 11.30am).

Having seen off Portora Royal in the last round, coach David Barnett is expecting another tough clash this weekend.

“I have to admit I don’t know much about Down High School, because they are not one of the schools who we play against,” conceded Barnett.

“But I feel like any cup tie it’s all about which side performs on the day and I see Saturday’s tie as no different.”

On the plus side Foyle skipper Kyle Henderson along with Neil Burns should be available for selection and Barnett feels that can only but help his side as they know they are just two games away from the quarter-finals.

“We’ll have both Kyle and Neil back and thats great for us, because they are very good players. Although we are just two games away from the quarter-finals, I just want my boys to concentrate on Saturday and not start getting ahead of themselves.

“I feel neither side is favourite going into Saturday’s game, in fact I feel both sides are well matched and we know it’s going to be tough against Down High School, but I feel if we can perform to the best of our abilities then hopefully that will be enough.”

Meanwhile Foyle College’s Thirds also entertain Down High School Thirds in the Danske Bank Thirds Cup this Saturday (KO 11am), while the juniors face Omagh in a friendly also at the school (KO 10am).
