Plenty of top class action at Coleraine and District Juvenile tournament

A large number of competitors took part in the Coleraine & District annual juvenile badminton tournament, sponsored by Brian Scott Engineering, at CAI sports hall last weekend.

Luke McKendry and Matthew O’Connor beat Callum Stevenson and Rhyan Webba da Silva in the Primary School Boys doubles finals. In the Singles Rhyan beat school mate Callum 21-14. Ryhan and Callum stepped up into the U13s and had a surprisingly comfortable win in the final against Dylan Stewart and Samuel McIlmoyle. Ryhan completed his hat trick when he won the U13 singles against Adam Abernethy.

The U13 girls’ doubles were won by Klaudia Krygielska and Sarah Scott with Rachel McLenaghan and Hannah Watt being runner up. Klaudia completed the double by winning the singles defeating Ellen Davis in the final. Sean Kennedy and Adam Semple won the U15 boys’ doubles against Gareth Henderson and Rhys Knox. Sean and Adam then fought it out in the singles final with Sean finishing on top. The U15 girls’ singles winner was Grace Richmond who paired up with Amy McAuley Hutchinson to win the doubles against Eve Webster and Naoise Kennedy.
