Point-to-point meeting at Moneyglass on Saturday

The Mid Antrim Hunt have started on their September routine of Autumn Hunting and are also preparing for their Point-to-Point which will be at the usual venue of the Higgins estate at Moneyglass on Saturday 29th September.

This year the point-to-point will have as its race sponsors: Dennison Commercials, Owen Doherty Shavings, McLaughlins Corner Pub, Cahill Boyd Filling Station, and Convery Trailers.

The races being sponsored in that order are: 1. Maiden race for 4 year olds, 2. Maiden Race for 5 yr old plus mares, 3. Winner of one, 4. Maiden Race for 5 & 6 year old geldings, 5. Open 4yr old plus with Novice Riders (less than 10 winners), and the final race 6. Maiden Race for 7yr olds plus.

The Form Card and Race Reader are being sponsored by Mr Barry Gibson and Wilsons Auctions and Best Turned Out prizes by Topping Meats. .

Work is well underway on the course and as always the Higgins estate is looking beautiful with the trees starting to show their autumn colours.

Viewers of the Game of Thrones series on television may recognise it as one of the venues which was used for filming. the clerk of the course, Katrina Mackie, and her assistants have reported the course as looking in good shape and as always are hoping some good weather leading up to and on the day.
