Pool league champions showing no signs of easing off

Newly-crowned Ballymena Towers Pool League champions Connolly's are showing no signs of easing off after wrapping up the title.

The Dunvale side overcame Towers Tavern in their latest victory.

Towers Tavern 2, Minnesota Inbetweeners: Davy Millar got Towers off to a great start with a win in straight frames against Gary Ormandy. Shane Moody then produced a great come from behind 2-1 win against Phil Houston to increase the lead for the Towers. Gareth Rowe then replied for the Inbetweeners with a 2-0 win over Drew Sloan.. Wayne Lewis then levelled the match at 2-2 with a 2-1 win over Dean Greer. The final two games both went the way of the Inbetweeners by 2-0 scorelines their winners being Clem Howard and Ryan Logan who defeated K.D.Crabbe and James Millar.

Connolly’s 5, Towers Tavern 1: Gary Clarke and Pat McAnally put the Champions 2-0 up in the match with wins in straight frames over James Millar and Davy Millar. John McAllister then put Connolly’s 3-0 ahead in the match with a 2-1 win over K.D.Crabbe. Don McKeown put Connolly’s further ahead with a 2-1 win against Shane Moody. Ryan Foster made the match score 5-0 to Connolly’s with a win in straight frames over Drew Sloan. Dean Greer then averted the white wash for Towers with a 2-0 win over Alan Davidson.

Moat A 2, Michelin Masters 4: Jimmy Knowles got Michelin off to a great start with a 2-0 win over Barry Weir only for Darren Campbell to level up the match score with a 2-1 win over Rick McMaster . Chris Penny restored the lead for Michelin with a win in straight frames over Ryan Stewart. Alan Rainey then levelled the match score at 2-2 with a fine 2-1 win over Brian Hanna. The final two games both went the way of the Michelin Masters with 2-0 wins for Alan and David Armstrong against Jason McKay and David Nicholl.
