The visitors, who welcomed back Andrew McConaghy and Graeme Kerr to the starting line up, began strongly and caught the home team cold.

Man of the match, John Dillon, broke clear and demonstrated some clinical finishing by rounding the keeper and smashing home a superb reverse stick strike to break the deadlock on the day.

John continued his recent impressive scoring form by once again rounding the keeper and this time finishing from an acute angle to put the boys from the Port 2-0 up.

Portrush’s dominance continued as Leon Smith collected the ball on the 25-yard line and broke into the circle to slot home another reverse stick shot to seemingly put the visitors in control of proceedings.

The visitors looked comfortable but some slack defending brought Parkview back into the game as they quickly scored twice to put a different perspective on the game.

A forth goal for Portush however came quickly as Neil McMaster finished well from a short corner to give his side a bit of breathing space again going in to the break.

The second half saw the Ports move further ahead as James McCook bagged a couple, first finishing with a great strike from the top of the circle and then chipping the goal keeper for his second to make it 6-2 for the Ports. Both goals were the result of excellent work from the midfield of Aaron Kerr, Leon Smith, Brent Smith and Callum McKeeman.

Parkview finished the scoring as they grabbed another goal but the match ended 6 – 3 to the visitors. Portrush continue their win streak, which sees them top of the table with six wins from six. Portrush HC would also like to send their sympathies to Parkview HC as they marked the year anniversary of the sad loss of a member of their club. Next week sees the boys travel to second place Ballinahinch for a crucial top of the table encounter.
