Positive meeting for Celtic supporters

FAN club representatives from all over the north converged on Lurgan last Sunday to hear new Glasgow Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

The Celtic Supporters Club in town was given the honour of hosting the question and answer session.

“It was absolutely fantastic,” said Lurgan chairman Eddie Seeley. “It couldn’t have gone any better, it was organised perfectly.”

Around 160 representatives packed into the club to hear Lurgan man Neil Lennon and Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell.

They told off their plans for the club and after a session lasting about one and a half hours there was still time for photographs and autographs.

Scott Brown, the club captain, was also there along with players Andres Hinkel, Pat McCourt, Morton Rasmussen and youngster Josh Thompson who broke into the first team last season.

“It was nice for the younger fans to see the players there,” added Eddie.

And after the session the fans left contented at what they had heard.

“Last season was a very disappointing one and the club were well aware of that,” said Eddie. “But they have gone out of their way to reassure the fans of what they they are doing.

“I think the supporters came away very happy. The whole thing was very positive and we were happy with what we were being told.”
