Preparations for Mid-Antrim 150 now at advanced stage

FOLLOWING the malicious oil spill that forced the cancellation of last years Mid Antrim 150, the club promised to come back, bigger and better.

Preparations are already well advanced to make sure they do just that.

The club held a promotional night, outside Joeys Bar in Ballymoney, on the Wednesday night of the North West week.

Although the weather turned against them, quite a large number of people enquired about the races, and a number I spoke to are thinking of making the trip from across the water for the 150. Never a bad thing.

Mid Antrim club spokesman Brian Smith told me: ‘It was all about getting the club’s name out there.

“The more people we let know about the Mid Antrim, the better for everybody. The riders, sponsors, race fans. Everybody.’

The meeting has a change of date this year, and will take place on the 15th and 16th June. The Times will, as always, have a preview and full race reports and photos of the meeting, arguably the biggest sporting event in the Borough in the year.
