Prior fail to take chances

EVEN pressure and equal chances against Ballymena away from home resulted in a narrow defeat for the local girls. Priorians met Ballyclare on Saturday for the second match between the two teams this season.

The game started well for Prior with strong passing and plenty of talking from the team. Priorians' first penalty corner was perfectly taken. A slip out to right and back into centre completely beat the Ballyclare defence. A good save from the 'keeper kept the score at 0-0 as the teams approached half time.

In the second half play stayed steady. A few corners were awarded to both sides but all were unsuccessful. The Ballyclare side were strong pushing forward. The Prior defence fought hard against them but Ballyclare got a lucky break in the circle.

Unfortunately for Prior, Ballymena took thier chances and the score was now 1-0 to the home side.

Priorians battled on but became frustrated. This affected their playing style. There were chances in their attacking circle but they didn't result in any goals.

Priorians left Ballyclare with another disappointing defeat 1-0, while Sheila Morton was the player of the match.
