Priorians get early Christmas present at St Columbs Park

Priorians returned to winning ways thanks to a 3-1 win over Rainey, at St Columbs Park on Saturday.

The home side’s lack of success in recent weeks showed with a cautious and nervous start to the game which saw the visitors take an early one goal lead.

A short corner was awarded to Prior and Tory Lapsley drove the ball goal ward and Claire Whiteside scored from the rebound.

In the middle of the second half Priorians completed a very satisfying afternoons hockey with two goals in quick succession.

The first was scored by Karen Campbell following an passing movement involving the whole team.

The third goal came when Priorians broke up a Rainey attack, Heather Manning crossed the ball hard into the D where Emma Sproule finished the movement pushing the ball passed the Rainey keeper to secure Prior three well earned points.
