Queen Street put up valiant fight

RELEGATION strugglers Queen Street put up a valiant effort but were overcome by second division leaders St Anthony's.

St Anthony's were relieved in the end to go home with only five league points from their slender three shot victory to still keep just ahead of their nearest challengers St Saviour's and St Mark's with only two games remaining.

On Mat one: Queen Street Skip Trevor Hampton, Sam Warren, Eileen Kennedy and N Warren never troubled the in form St Anthony's rink of Skip Paul Moore, Kieran Trainor, Chris Trainor and Beth Wilson who won 13-1.

Mat two: Skip Alan Cassells, S Hazely, Henry Smyth and Sadie Smyth won 17-6 over St Anthony's Skip Martin Trainor, Sean Conroy Jr, Eileen McDonald and James Nolan.

Mat three: Queen Street Skip Leslie Wylie, Olive Gillespie, Robert Kennedy and Nora Johnston lost 11-3 to St Anthony's rink of Skip Danny McDonald, Paul Corvan, Kevin McConville and Eileen Trainor.

Mat Four: Queen Street Skip Alan Roberts, Alison Roberts, Gloria White and Malcolm Lynch won 12-6 over St Anthony's rink of Skip Sean Conroy Snr, Sean Trainor, Michael Catney and Christina Breen.
