The 1st XI clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory against Wallace to move into the last four of the Senior Schools’ Cup.

It was a quietly determined start for Ballyclare and the first half play was largely in their favour, but they could not find the back of the net.

One short corner opportunity and plenty of pressure met a very solid Wallace defence who held firm. Indeed, it was Wallace who took their only real chance in front of goal in this half to go 1-0 up just before the break.

Ballyclare started the second half brightly and the equaliser came after the second of two consecutive Ballyclare short corners, Megan Quinn slotting her own rebound home.

Playing more like the fast and free-flowing side they are, Ballyclare pressed on and were soon rewarded with a second goal from open play with Rebecca McConnell edging them in front.

In the dying embers of the game, a short corner awarded to Wallace gave the home side a final chance to save the match but the ball was safely cleared.
