After taking his debut win in the previous round held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Smiley qualified a solid third on the grid (1.58.645) behind Jason Kremer and Manuel Fahnauer.

Jordan Lee Pepper won the final race and with it the series, while Smiley only needed to finish behind Junior Cup winner Nicolaj Møller Madsen, from Denmark, to secure fourth overall in the championship. He did exactly that by taking fifth spot in the race.

Smiley commented: “I’m over the moon with the result and season. Hopefully we’ll have some news coming soon about 2015, as we are working hard on our plans.”

Highlights of Smiley’s 10-race season included two top-three finishes, a win and qualifying in the top three on three occasions.

Top five standings: 1, Jordan Lee Pepper (379); 2, Jason Kremer (321); 3, Victor Bouveng (295); 4, Chris Smiley (252); 5, Nicolaj Møller Madsen (250).
