Despite the absence of Queens and UUC because of the upcoming Irish Intervarsity’s and the Boondock Saints and Racks Rookies match did not take place but all that didn’t matter when the league’s top two sides locked horns in a typical classy encounter.

Dervock Destroyers Vs Rack ‘n’ Rollers

Gareth Johnston just gets better every week and this week he dispatched fellow International Ryan Craig 2-0 in the opener. Lyam McDermott levelled things up with a 2-0 against Gavin Patton. Nigel Craig put his side in front with an 8 ball clearance defeating Chris Mulholland 2-0 and despite Noel McDermott losing in a decider 2-1 against Tommy Morrow the league leaders took the first set.

In the second set, Gareth Johnston lead out again in fine style again beating Ryan Craig 2-0, Chris Mulholland made it 2-0 to his team defeating Lyam McDermott in a last frame Decider. Tommy Morrow made sure of the draw for his team with two 8 ball clearance giving his opponent Noel McDermott just one visit. A second set whitewash was ensured as Gavin Patton defeated Nigel Craig 2-1 in the last match of the night.

The ever Clinical Sensations continue to slaughter the opposition as Pocket knockers and Roy’s Rovers try to stay in touch.

The Sensations Vs Rack’s Rogues

The sensations have been fantastic this year and they were heavily fancied to inflict a heavy defeat on lowly Racks Rogues. R. Blair led the line beating Chris Clyde 2-0 in the first. Philip Shaw made it 2-0 with a convincing win against John Wilmot. G. Wallace made it 3-0 and first set safe when he defeated Michael Young 2-0. Jordan Craig restored some pride when the U-18 International defeated the talented Andy McAlonan 2-0.

In the second set, Michael Young made it 1-0 to the Rogues in the first set Philip Shaw then levelled soon after when he defeated John Wilmot 2-0. G Wallace made it 2-1 with a fine win over Jordan Craig and R Blair secured maximum points for the Sensations with a 2-0 win against Chris Clyde.

The Rat Pack Vs Roy’s Rovers

This second Division match was a lot tighter than the first; Andy Kincaid defeated Ricky Pollock 2-1 in the first. Daniel McMillan produced a competent performance to level for Rovers and Aidy Darragh made it 2-1 to Roy’s with a victory against Matthew Rafferty. Philip McClean forced a playoff when he defeated Ronnie Leslie 2-0. The Playoff saw the experienced Aidy Darragh comfortably beat Darren Leonard 2-0.

In the second set, Norman Brown took his chances to put Andrew Kincaid away making it 2-0 and Philip McClean overcame Daniel McMillan 2-1 to keep his team in the match. Ricky Pollock had other ideas as he dug deep to beat Matthew Rafferty and secure maximum points for a resurgent Rovers.

UUC Dishermen Vs The Slow Starters

Richard Williams got off to a quick start for the Slow Starters when he defeated Marty Cummings 2-0. N.I U-18 international Johnny Parker levelled soon after beating Andy Stewart 2-0. Bryan Gaynor put his team in front with a 2-1 win over Chris Lamont but Paul Brady forced a playoff edging out Chris Higgins 2-1.

Bryan Gaynor put his team a set up and a game up in set two with a 2-0 win over Richard Williams. Johnny Parker made it 2-0 beating Chris Lamont 2-1 and Chris Higgins made it 2-0 to the Dishermen with a 2-1 win against Andy Stewart. Paul Brady prevented the whitewash with a 2-1 Over Marty Cummings in the last.

Ballymoney Blaze Vs Pocket Knockers

The troubled Blaze had only three players this week despite coming up against the talented Pocket Knockers and the writing was on the wall early doors as Paddy Henry beat Sam Campbell 2-0 in the first. Jimmy Hanna defeated Jonathon Smyth to ensure the first set. Steven Elder defeated David Drain to get some Pride back for Blaze.

The Second set, was no different as Paddy Henry defeated Sam Campbell again in the first, Jimmy Hanna made it 2-0 with a 2-0 win over Johnny Smyth and David Drain ensured the whitewash defeating Steven Elder 2-0.
