Randalstown had already secured third place above their local rivals but also wanted to finish with a win.

Both teams scored mid-way through the half, Randalstown’s from a short corner set piece that Alex Ogilby finished off.

Towards the end of the first half, Randalstown doubled their score to lead going in at the break.

After some sterns words from coach Harry McNeill, Town played more fluently as a team and were rewarded with a third goal midway through the half when Jayne McGrillen came in off the left wing and passed to Nicole Moore to finish past the stranded keeper. Randalstown lost a little composure towards the end of the match allowing Ballymoney to gain two goals back to draw the match. The result somewhat disappointing for the travelling team who probably edged the match.

Randalstown 1st XI face Rainey 1st XI in the next round of the President’s Cup at Antrim Forum at 2.30pm on Saturday 2nd April. The following week they travel to North Dublin to play Trinity College 1st XI for one of the two wildcard spots in the IHL playoff competition the following weekend.

Randalstown IV 2, North Down II 2: Randalstown 4th XI capped off their season on Wednesday night at Antrim Forum with a match against North Down. Randalstown had six U15 players in the squad who all fitted in neatly amongst the 4th regulars. The Town girls took an early lead through an individual goal from young Charlotte Stacey. North Down equalised from a short corner set piece for the half to finish level.

In the second period, Randalstown again took the lead through Charlotte who got on the score sheet for a second time. However North Down went home with a share of the spoils after drawing level for the second time through another short corner routine.
