Rebekah named best young athlete
REBEKAH Nixon was recently awarded the trophy for best young athlete of the year from Dromore Athletic Club.
Victories in 800m indoor and outdoor at NI and Ulster Championship level as well as an all-Ireland indoor medal helped Rebekah receive this honour.
Rebekah added to this happy success on Saturday June 16 by retaining her 800m title at the NI and Ulster Championships held at the Antrim Forum, with victory in the U15 age group.

Hide AdIn the time trial format Rebekah had cleared the rest of the field in her race after 400m and with no close competition it was between her and the clock to beat the times of the athletes from the first race which she duly did to secure overall victory.
Rebekah now holds Championship titles for U15 indoor and outdoor 800m as well as over cross-country.
