Red-hot Cole claims victory at Raceview

Playing off a handicap of 14, he priduced a total of 43 stableford points, despite having a dreaded ‘ding’ on the final hole.

A birdie start was followed by two dropped shots but Dylan completed the first nine holes with three pars and three bogeys for 21 points on the way out.

His second nine opened with two pars followed by two birdies, while the next three holes accounted for a bogey plus two more pars.

The next two holes were the low point of the round as he dropped five shots for one point but he notched 22 points over the nine holes.

Second prize was taken by John Hamilton (20) with 41 points of which 19 came from the first nine holes, despite three double bogeys, but he had a birdie on the fourth which was worth four points alone. The back nine saw him register four pars, fouyr bogeys and a double bogey on the 15th for an additional 22 points.

Adam Heron (10) racked up 40 points, which could have been more but for a non-scoring double bogey on the penultimate hole.

FOurth prize went to George Horner (13) who had the best of three 39 point totlas.

The first four holes on George’s card were bogeys but he scored three pars and two more bogeys for 18 points. The back nine was very steady where George scored five pars and four bogeys which yielded a further 21 points.

That was enough to edge out Adam Barr and Eugene M Reid, who also had 39 points.

Sean McGarry (4) claimed the best gross prize with a round of level par 68 shots.

The first five holes on the front nine saw Sean record two pars, a birdie, a bogey plus a double bogey on the fifth and the last four holes of the nine were pars to be out in two over gross.

The second nine hioles were top class where he scored five pars, a bogey at 15 and birdies at 14, 16 and 18 to be home in two under gross.

SUNDAY OPEN

The SUnday open stableford resulted in a win for Gary McMullan (17) who produced 39 points of which a superb front nine yielded 22.

The second nine was a mixture of fours and fives which produced a further 17 points.

Second place went to Adam Robinson (20) with a total of 38 points while third-placed Edward McKee played the course t his 18 handicap to claim 36 points.

Best gross came from five handicapper Sean McElroy who played the course in three over par 71 shots.

LADIES

Lady Captain, Elaine Mark, and vice captain, Jennifer Eagleson, were winners of the TDS/John Myers-sponsored Daisy Ferguson Greensomes and now move forward to the next stage of the competition.
