Registration night

BANBRIDGE Hockey Club’s junior and youth sections will hold a registration and induction night this week at Havelock Park.

All boys and girls interested in playing hockey this season from P1 up to U15 level should come along with their parents to Havelock on Friday August 31 from 7-8pm to ensure they register for the appropriate coaching section, complete the necessary paperwork, pay fees and guarantee coaching places for this season.

Since the integration of Banbridge Ladies with Banbridge Hockey Club, Julie Craig has been elected to head up Junior hockey within the new club structure with a team of coaches and volunteers to assist,

Julie stated, “Banbridge Hockey Club can provide excellent coaching and facilities for boys and girls playing hockey from primary 1 upwards.

“This season we are asking parents to come along on Friday August 31 to Havelock between 7-8pm and register their child and pay fees for the relevant training session. On that night, each parent will receive an information pack outlining the dates and times of training sessions and parents and children can meet the junior coaching team. ”

The boys and girls will train separately in Primary School, under 13 and 15 groups with matches and tournaments organised throughout the season. Once players reach 15 years old they become eligible to play for their respective men’s and ladies section with weekly training and matches available in variety of cup & league competitions.

Julie added; “Banbridge Hockey Club has recently achieved Clubmark NI accreditation. This means that BHC Junior Club will meet minimum standards in the areas of effective management, quality Coaching and competition safety in sport”
