The visitors had the upper hand in a scrappy first half and the Scarva rearguard had to be alert to stay on level terms.

Stand in keeper Gary Dodds saved well with his feet, Rod Douglas headed off the line and David Morton completed an important block and the home side’s stubborn resistance paid off as the game remained scoreless at the interval.

At the other end Dean McCammon’s dangerous shot had produced a fine save from the Lurgan No 1.

It was Lurgan BBOB who broke the deadlock after the break but it was a temporary lead.

A Greg Douglas shot was headed out of play for a corner. Douglas took the resulting corner himself and William Morrison fired a shot into the net from close range.

A Gareth Anderson shot was saved by the keeper before the visitors scored their second goal of the afternoon to go 2-1 ahead.

A Greg Douglas corner was then pushed over the crossbar and David Morton fired over from the resulting corner.

It was from a corner that Scarva’s second equaliser arrived. Delivered with pinpoint accuracy by Douglas, it was dispatched with unerring accuracy by Darren Clarke.

The winner was manufactured by the Douglas brothers; Rod won possession and Gregory collected the loose ball, burst into the box and conjured up an emphatic finish to secure victory for his side.
