Revengeis sweet for Ballymoney Thirds

BALLYMONEY 3RDS 2 GROSVENOR 0

ON Saturday Ballymoney Thirds were host at home to Grosvenor after an unlucky defeat to the same team away the previous week.

Ballymoney didn’t dwell on this as they were on the attack from the whistle.

It wasn’t long before there was a strong pass into the circle from Rebecca Turton found Emma Patton who hit the ball into the back of the net.

Ballymoney continued to attack and were unfortunate not to score again from a penalty corner.

Strong defence from Katie Steele, Gemma Caldwell, Becky Greer and Ciara McGuigan kept Grosvenor at bay only managing one shot on goal in the first half.

In the second Ballymoney started strong again with good attacking play form Lynsey Mooney, Cara Ferguson and Emma Patton.

Midfield Rebecca Martin, Sara Gardner and Rebecca Turton worked hard switching the play well and Sara threw herself to intercept Grosvenor passes on more than one occasion.

When the final whistle blew Ballymoney ended on a comfortable 2 nil victory.

They would also like to thank Lynn for umpiring.
