Riada victory in cup final

The finals of the NIPBA 2014 Sutherland and the Hyland Donaghy Cups, which are sponsored by GM Computer Systems, Coleraine were played at Portstewart Bowling Club on Friday 13th June.

Having two bowling greens at Portstewart enabled the two finals to be played at the one location and on the same night. This allowed the large crowd of spectators who turned up to watch and support the finalists, the luxury of being able to watch two finals at the same time.

In the Sutherland Cup (sponsored by GM Computer Systems), the finalists were:

Coleraine B -v- Limavady

The winners were the Coleraine B team who won by 98 shots to 47 shots.

On their way to the final Coleraine B beat Dunluce B; Dungiven and Brooke Park, while Limavady had beaten Magherafelt; Ballymoney B and Cookstown B in order for them to get to the final.

In the Hyland Donaghy Cup (sponsored by GM Computer Systems), the finalists were:

Portstewart -v- Riada

The winners were the Riada team who won by 79 shots to 47 shots.

On their way to the final Riada beat Culraithain and Castlerock, while Portstewart had beaten Lisnagelvin; Letterkenny B and Omagh in order for them to get to the final.

Following the matches the Winners and Runners-up Cups were presented to the teams by Derek Smyth of GM Computer Systems, Coleraine.
