Lurgan BBOB Youth 5

LURGAN BBOB Youth made the long journey to Keady to take on league new-comers PFTF.

BB thought they’d taken the lead from a corner which Scott Jones headed into the back of the net, but the referee disallowed for a foul on the PFTF keeper.

BB didn’t let this decision get to them and slowly but surely started to take a hold of the game. On 10 minutes Chris Barron was fouled on the edge of the box and Michael Wheatley swung in an excellent free kick which Smyth headed on from the front post to the waiting Jones to put BB up 1-0.

BB then made it 2-0 with the impressive David Kinnon making a powerful run from his own half, playing one twos with Wheatley and then Love to power forward and drill the ball home.

It was 3-0 on 25 minutes with a fantastic left foot over the top ball by the hard working Jones which released Henry Capper down the right wing who cut in and passed the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

PFTF then got a deserved goal back just before the break with poor defending by the BB midfield and defence.

In the second half BB took complete control of the game .

PFTF had one excellent chance after 65 minutes, but King pulled off an excellent save to his left to push the ball out for a corner.

Capper scored two excellent goals, picking up the ball on both occasions in his own half and taking on the PFTF defence and confidently putting the ball into the back of the goal on both occasions to complete his hat-trick.

All the BB players came with the right attitude this week and turned it into a good performance. BB will be looking to continue this for the trip to kernan Park to take on local rivals and league holders, Lurgan Celtic this Saturday.

Lurgan BBOB thanked Lurgan’s Ashburn Hotel for their sponsorship.
