Rising star strikes six golds as indoor archery restarts at club

With six of Ballyvally’s archers shooting this week in the World Field championships in Croatia, Ballyvally are always on the lookout for up and coming talent in the younger generation.

Cubs in the club start at four years of age and by the time they are in their early teens, it is becoming obvious who could be a future champion.

One of Ballyvally’s up and coming girls is 12 year old Eden McMath, who shoots barebow. She shot very well at the recent Northern Ireland field and target championships at Boucher Road, Belfast. In fact, she performed so well that at one end of arrows she had all six arrows in the gold.

INDOOR SESSIONS RESTART IN BANBRIDGE LEISURE CENTRE

With the summer outdoor archery season almost over, Ballyvally Archery Club once again will be organising its eight weekly sessions for club members and beginners who would like to try their hand at this ancient sport, which was included in the original Olympic games in 770BC.

Classes are on Wednesdays from 3.30pm to 8pm and Thursdays from 3.30pm until 10pm. The age range in the club is from four years of age to an unbelievably 90 years.
