Rotary Club's charity golf day raises £4,500

LISBURN Golf Club again kindly provided their excellent Golf Course for The Rotary Club of Lisburn to host their Charity Golf Day, which raised a magnificent £4,500, on Thursday September 2.

Some 72 golfers set off on a shotgun start at 2.00pm. Much sustenance for the difficult slog round 18 holes was provided in goody bags sponsored by Philip Morrow of PRM group.

After the golf and a superb buffet provided by the golf club caterers the following prizes were presented.

A team representing Oasis Travel, (Sandra narrowly missed selection) were wnners of the team competition.

Don Weekes of Dunmiurry Golf club was the winner of the best gross with a round of 3 over. Patrick Coyle, a member of the Rotary Club of Lisburn, with a superb score of 43 points was the winner of the Stableford prize.

Hard work marshalling the 18th by Henry McNally plus a very successful ballot added to the money raised by entry fees.

In total some 4,500 was raised and this money has been designated by the club to be used for local Lisburn based Charities.

Colin Suckling, Patrick Coyle, Liam McCartney and their helpers provided a very successfully organised day.
