Round up of the sweep results at Banbridge Golf Club

THURSDAY DECEMBER 17 - Joe Glass finished off the year on a high.

He has had yet another good season and his New Year resolution for 2010 is to get his handicap down to single figures. He is well capable of doing just that.

1st, Joe Glass (16) 35 points; 2nd, Gareth McGregor (13) 32.

The Boxing Day sweep is always a fun event and it was sad that it fell victim to the weather. It has been postponed until Monday December 27 2010.

The first sweep of the New Year was held on Saturday January 2 and it was a bit of an adventure.

Only the hardiest of souls ventured out in the freezing conditions and some of them have never been seen since.

They managed to get nine holes opened and the biggest problem was the actual digging of a hole in the greens. Victor Morrow managed to play the nine holes in eight over par and his 23 points proved to be unbeatable.

Since that day, there has hardly been a ball struck and, looking out the window, it may be some time before any golf is played.

1st, Victor Morrow (26) 23 points.
