Roy Sipson wins Open Stableford

Roy Sipson (10 now 8) won the Open Stableford at Banbridge Golf Club last Thursday.

Roy is a tremendous golfer but, due to work commitments, cannot play in the main competitions on Saturdays.

He has nevertheless managed to get his handicap down to single figures mainly through competing in the Thursday Opens.

He was the winner on June 30th with 40 points, runner-up on July 7th with another 40 points and winner again last Thursday, this time with 41 points.

Roy is also into the quarterfinal of the matchplay championship.

He has his heart set on winning that one and who would bet against him?

Gordon Dickson (18) was runner-up last Thursday with 40 points.

Gordon is a relatively new member to the club and he will be pleased with this score.

He recovered brilliantly from a poor start.
