Rugby cap Claire graduates
She has been commended by her Rugby coaches and teammates as her dedication and commitment saw her make it onto the Irish team, despite undergoing a heart procedure earlier this year.
And Claire hopes her days at Queen’s aren’t over yet, as she is aiming to return to the University to compete for Ireland in the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2017. The University is hosting the World Cup alongside University College Dublin and the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast.
Ahead of her graduation ceremony, Claire said: “I have loved my time at Queen’s. It has been an immense rollercoaster and Queen’s has opened up so many opportunities to me. I have met so many wonderful friends, and I am delighted to achieve my degree and succeed within my sport, even after my surgery.
“I am definitely going to continue playing rugby. Next year is going to be very intense as the World Cup is going to be in Ireland in August.”
Claire will celebrate her graduation with her mum and dad.
