Starting on 22nd July at 7.30pm, coach Jason Taggart will once again be putting the whole senior squad through its paces, looking to gear up to the Kukri Qualifying One league opener in September.

New players are of course always welcome, at all levels – 7.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays – and get in touch via facebook, twitter, or the website if you’re not sure about it and we’ll bring you along.

This season’s club captain will be Chris Beverland, who is fighting fit and ready to go again after a few setbacks with knee injuries in the past year. While most players recover on the sidelines, Beverland has been at the heart of the squad throughout his time, helping with coaching, fitness, and nutrition advice, and often leading the first XV through their warm-up routines on match days.

His influence can already be seen with the “Monday Night Block” – where up to 25 guys can be seen at various speeds on a 2-mile block round the town.

In addition, there has been a great turn-out to sessions at Core Gym in Coleraine, with strength and conditioning work guided by the professionals.

Off the pitch Beverland is also bringing his enthusiasm to the back room team, where we will see a strong push for more integrated club communication, progress on membership schemes, and more support from the men’s section into the other parts of the club.

Around the club, the other sections are getting ready for the season as well, with the ladies hosting a mixed tag charity day on Saturday 2nd August – all ability levels, and weather patterns will be welcome.

The ladies, youth, and mini sections are also gearing up for the new season, and mini summer camps are still available in August. As ever, volunteers for administration, coaching, sponsorship, and fundraising are always needed, so please get in touch if you can bring a new face to any part of the club.

For up to date information on all club activities, and to get in touch, you can go to the website on ballymoneyrfc.com – or each section has its own facebook page on top of the main club page at facebook.com/ballymoneyrfc
