The Bannsiders, at this stage down to 14 men after Greg Neely saw yellow, could do nothing to prevent Larne crossing the line but the visitors knocked the ball on. The hosts promptly ran the length of the pitch and the move culminated in a Daniel Ramage score, giving them into a 13-6 advantage.

Larne still had high hopes of a win but two yellow cards within a minute of each other saw Phil Andrews and Cole take a 10-minute break.

Coleraine exploited the opportunity and applied huge pressure on the Larne line. A penalty was converted by Poskitt, quickly followed up with a Josh Christie try as they incisively carved a hole in a big overlap, leaving the Larne defence exposed.

Strong defending from Jordan Burns prevented Coleraine from crossing the line again until Larne returned to the full compliment.

With the scoreboard reading 23-6 with 20 minutes to go, there was still time for a few scores to salvage a bonus point. But Larne then had Agnew sent to the bin and finding themselves on the back foot, didn’t create any more opportunities.
