FORMER Downshire pupil Amy Davis helped Ireland’s women’s rugby team qualify for the Rugby World Cup Sevens at the weekend.

Davis, who plays for Dublin-based club Blackrock, was part of the squad who helped defeat Ukraine 17-0 in the Plate semi-finals at the FIRA-AER qualifying tournament which books Ireland’s spot in for next year’s tournament in Moscow next June.
